Muscat 22: World Athletics Race Walking Team Championships
Muscat 2022 was a completely different personal and professional experience from the ones I have had lived in recent years. On this occasion, I faced again a completely different environment and culture from anything I have ever known. In the same way, this time I took on different challenges and more responsibility, which highlighted the need to make an extra effort, managing moments of high pressure and little sleep. Although all that did not matter, since everything went perfect in the end.
Working with a highly-skilled team means looking for making everything perfectly and, in my opinion, that’s how it turned out. Both the staff of the Oman Anti-Doping Committee (OADC) and the team made up of Professional Worldwide Controls (PWC) and the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) worked in a coordinated and efficient manner, which undoubtedly led not only to a great professional result, but also an indescribable experience on a personal level.
These experiences are, without any doubt, the people who are part of them and, especially on this occasion, I am proud to have shared my stay in Oman with a group of people who have given their best at all times so that everything went well.
In addition, athletes, coaches, doctors and other support staff, event organizers, chaperones and volunteers collaborated at all times. All this was what led to the great success achieved.
On this occasion, being able to carry out the role of Head of the Anti-Doping Testing Program gave me the chance to explore a new development path within the company I work for. This event will undoubtedly be the beginning of my future professional development in the medium-long term.
On the other hand, despite the situation of COVID-19, the event was celebrated without any inconvenience at all.
After 7-8 days of many emotions, a long trip back home and a period of recovery and well-deserved rest after everything I’ve been through, I am back on track and thinking about future projects, how to continue growing and make the company even bigger with my contributions. Looking forward to the next adventure!

Muscat 22 was an interesting and completely new experience. I had the opportunity to lead the anti-doping workforce and coordinating the whole testing program together with the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU).
